It is hot in Japan of this year.

It is very hot...It is intense heat!
Heat attained a Japanese new record at 40.9 degrees.
As for the asphaltic road, it is severe to walk, too.
The true symbol of summer of Japan should wear a Yukata.
A Yukata is a matter of Japanese-style clothes.
It is cool when this is put on.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A Japanese girls specially likes a Yukata very much.
When dating with a boyfriend or attending a fireworks display, it wears in many cases.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Is a Japanese girls very cute?

This girl does Uchimizu and makes it cool.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It more feels to be cool in Japan when it listens to the tone of the Fu-rin(wind-chimes) in summer.

 

*1 Yukata:Informal summer Kimono. (A Japanese-type bathrobe. When summer comes, there is a habit to put this on outside and to walk in Japan.)
*2 Uchimizu:Sprinkle water in the garden or a way.
*3 Fu-rin(Japanese-style wind-chime):Small bell with a strip of paper suspended underneath,hung on the eaves to tinkle in the wind.

July 7(7/7) is the day of the Tanabata Festival.
An important event for the young Japanese couple.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This day puts on even its Yukata in the pairs, and wants to go out.
I have been for "Hiratsuka's Tanabata Festival" and "Sendai's Tanabata Festival"  in Japan.
The seventh of July of Sendai is fitted to Japanese Bon, and delayed for one month, and done in August 7(8/7).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Many Yatai(food stands) of food come out, and I am at a loss what will be eaten.
It has light raised, and generally a night becomes romantic.
Tanabata Festival is whether it is being deified for the couple at present, too.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Various wishes are written in the Tan-zaku(strip of papers) with Tanabata Festival.
Then, when a wish is realized, it is handed down.
Well, what shall I write?
That? There was the one to be writing such a thing.
"Before being thirty years, it can get married!!"
God will satisfy a wish certainly!

Tanabata Festival(Star Festival)......
Tanabata (meaning "Seven Evenings") is a Japanese star festival,
derived from Obon traditions and the Chinese star festival, Qi Xi.
The festival is usually held on July 7 or August 7,
and celebrates the meeting of Orihime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altair).
The Milky Way, a river made from stars that crosses the sky,
separated these two lovers,
and they were allowed to meet only once a year.
This special day is the seventh day of the seventh
lunar month of the lunisolar calendar.

History......
The festival originated from The Festival to Plead for Skills,
an alternative name for Qi Xi,
which was celebrated in the Kyoto Imperial Palace from the Heian Period.
The festival spread to the general public by the early
Edo period, became mixed with various Obon traditions,
and developed into the modern Tanabata festival.
In the Edo period, girls wished for better sewing and craftsmanship,
and boys wished for better handwriting by writing wishes on strips of paper.
At this time,
the custom was to use dew left on Taro leaves to create
the ink used to write wishes.

Though it was an excursion, Tanabata Festival was pleasant.
And, I want to go next year, too.


*1 Tanabata Festival:The Star Festival based on a legend,at which people hang strips of colored paper and other decorations on branches of bamboo.
*2 Tan-zaku:An oblong strip of color paper for writing poems or wish on.
*3 Yukata:Informal summer Kimono. (A Japanese-type bathrobe. When summer comes, there is a habit to put this on outside and to walk in Japan.)
*4 Bon:Japanese Bon Festival,The Buddhist Festival of the dead.(The Lantern Festival.)
*5 Yatai(En-nichi):Food stand,A temple or shrine festival at which stands are set up in the precincts.

Goes to Hanami (see cherry blossoms) to Mt.Minibu. (My excursion)

It went to see cherry blossoms to Mt.Minobu on April 5. (4/5/2007)
We Japanese have a habit to go for Hanami in the time when cherry blossoms bloom.
About April is in full bloom, and Japanese cherry blossoms are beautiful from about March inside.
The cherry blossoms of this Mt.Minobu are famous though there are many famous places in Japan for the cherry blossoms.
It is introduced because it has been to see SidareZakura of Mt.Minobu.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There is Kuon-temple at the top of Mt.Minobu.
Cherry blossoms can't be presumed not to go to Kuon-temple.
However, it is difficult until it goes to that Kuon-temple.
It is because it must climb these steep stone steps "Bodaitei Steps" when it says why.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mt.Minobu is height above sea level 1,153m.
Stone steps are steep slopes very much because it climbs it with 287 steps no less than 1,153m.
I did my best with the teacher of English which came from the United States where it got acquainted with each other halfway, and climbed it!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It has difficulty, and beautiful beautiful SidareZakura can see it when it climbs the stone steps of this steep slope.

The Bodaitei Steps......
The Bodaitei or the Steps or Enlightenment, which symbollze the truth that enlightenment can be reached step by step,
consist of seven flights, having 287 stone steps altogether.
The number seven impolies that of the letters composing the Sacred Title:na, mu, myo, ho, ren, ge, and kyo.
The set of stone steps was constructed by the untiring efforts of a believer called Nizo of the Province of Sado in 1932
 in the time of the 26th Chief Abbot Nissen.

Though it was difficult to climb it, very beautiful SidareZakura could see it.
I was deeply impressed.
Of course, it is the impression to see cherry blossoms.
And, it wanted to come to this someday.
